Lymphedema/Lipedema Education (Patients and Professionals)

  1. Canadian Lymphedema Framework - a non-profit organization that provides education, resources and advocacy for lymphedema education, management and treatment. The website has information for patients and healthcare providers.

  2. Lymphedema Association of Ontario - an organization that provides patient and healthcare professional support, education and advocacy regarding lymphedema. It also has a therapist directory, where you can find certified lymphedema therapists in your region.

  3. Vodder School International - this is a world recognized international school that trains Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Lymphedema therapists. They also have a Find a Therapist page, where you can search for Applied MLD and Lymphedema therapists in your region.

  4. Lipedema Canada - a non-profit website that provides information and education about Lipedema, with resources for patients and healthcare providers

  5. Head and Neck Lymphedema - a great article with information on head and neck lymphedema and care from Lindsay Davey (PT/CDT)

Compression Fitters and Vendors

  1. Soft Touch Mastectomy and Lymphedema Care - a clinic/medical supply store in North York, founded and run by Alla Hardoon that that provides consultations and fitting services, pneumatic pumps, education and support for people with lymphedema, post-surgery and cancer, lipedema, and more.

  2. Care-Med - a partner of Soft Touch Mastectomy (also founded and directed by Alla Hardoon) that offers orthopedic services/products as well as lymphedema/edema services as above.

  3. Lipedema Guru - Alla Hardoon’s recently founded company that strives to provide guidance and education to lipedema patients, including resources and consultations.

  4. The Lymphedema Fitter - located in Scarborough, and founded by Sandra Persaud, this clinic provides consultation, education and fitting services for post-surgical and lymphedema patients.

Video and Education Resources

  1. Cancer Rehab PT - a YouTube channel run by Kelly Sturm, a Doctor of Physical Therapy focusing on cancer rehab. She has many videos on self-massage, simple lymphatic drainage, exercises, supportive therapies and general education. Kelly is also a CLT-LANA certified MLD therapist.

  2. Breast Cancer Rehab - a YouTube channel run by Erica Ainsworth, a self-described ‘breast cancer thriver’ and chiropractor. Erica has videos on self-massage, exercises/strength training, education on cancer treatments and rehab, and a lot of very helpful information.

  3. The Breast Cancer Physio - a YouTube channel run by Jen McKenzie, a Lymphedema Physiotherapist and Accredited Exercise Physiologist focusing her channel on breast cancer education and rehab. She covers common issues from breast cancer surgeries and treatment as well as strategies for home care.

  4. OncoPelvic PT - a YouTube channel run by Alex Hill, a physical therapist focusing on pelvic floor, oncology and lymphedema rehab. She has many videos on self lymphatic massage, lymphedema education, supportive therapies and general cancer education.
